Lennon's Birth Story
Aislynn & Chris | Baby Lennon | Unmedicated at Davis Hospital | August 20, 2019
“I went in at 6:30 in the morning to check in at the hospital. They put me in a room where I waited. Around 8:30 the nurse came in and put my IV in. She missed 2 times and I was on the verge of freaking out on her for missing. She got it the third time-still uncomfortably placed but I didn’t dare say anything. Last thing I wanted was her to poke me again. They started my pitocin drip at this time. Couple hours go by I had my husband smuggle me in a Maverick burrito because I was starving and they said I can’t eat. There was no way I could do this on an empty stomach. I have been induced before so I knew it wouldn’t make me throw up which was their worry. My contractions began to pick up they came in hourly and turned up my pitocin until noon when I was maxed out on how much they could give me. I was feeling extremely uncomfortable as my contractions were the worst I’ve ever felt. I requested to go in the tub. This was around 1/1:30 pm. They said I could go in for 20 minutes but no longer because I have to be monitored. The tub was amazing and I felt at ease and much more relaxed. At the end of my 20 minutes I had my husband help me out of the tub and back to the bed where I got hooked up to monitors again. They came in and broke my water took the doctor 2-3 pokes to get it broken. Felt the gush of water and I knew it was going to be game time. Once the water breaks contractions really begin to pick up. Half hour goes by and I’m in agony I request the pitocin to be turned way back down because my contractions were coming back to back to the point I couldn’t breathe. They came In and turned it down and we proceeded. They checked my dilation after the tub and I was sitting at a7. Around 3:30 they came back and checked me I was at an 8. My contractions were picking back up and baby’s heart beat began to drop. The dr reached inside and began rubbing Lennon’s head and his heart rate would go back up. I ended up out of it where they had to put my on oxygen. I’ve had 3 kids prior all induced and never had this happen. Then I felt the urge to push the Doctor wasn’t ready the room wasn’t ready my husband gloves up and assisted the doctor in catching Lennon and placing him on my chest. My husband was trying to get me to pat Lennon’s back so he’d cry and I couldn’ti was too out of it. Chris began patting his back he cried and it was beautiful. They took him and began checking him out and he was perfect. Lennon was born at 3:40 pm. I dilated from an 8 to baby in 10 minutes. My husband says he knows I’m better off just let alone until I ask for help. He said he just hung out with me until I asked him for something. He said at the end the biggest thing was Asking the doctor what she needed because the baby was coming and she said nothing the nurse would come. She wasn’t coming he grabbed gloves cause the doctor only had one and it was inside rubbing baby’s head.”
